Popular Nigerian gospel artiste Bolaji Olanrewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, was laid to rest in Ibadan, Oyo State, following his passing on April 19 after a brief illness. He was 50.

The final rites began on Wednesday with a funeral service and lying-in-state at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan. The solemn ceremony was attended by family, close friends, and many members of the gospel music community.

Among those who came to pay their respects were gospel artists Tosin Bee, Mike Abdul, Bidemi Olaoba, Yetunde Are, and comedian Woli Agba.

Touching scenes shared on social media showed pallbearers carrying Bolaji’s flower-adorned casket into the hall, while mourners stood in reverent silence. A tribute video highlighting his life, ministry, and music was played, moving many to tears.

Following the service, the burial procession made its way to All Souls Private Cemetery in Ido, where Big Bolaji was laid to rest. His wife, siblings, and loved ones stood in quiet reflection during the final moments of his interment.
