Over the past day, the Gombe State Police Command conducted several operations resulting in the arrest of armed robbery suspects and the recovery of a stolen vehicle along with burglary equipment. According to police spokesperson DSP Buhari Abdullahi, these actions are part of a broader mission to safeguard the region.
Officers detained Micah Nuhu following an armed assault against Mama Kingsley Joseph. Nuhu allegedly used a pestle to injure the victim before stealing her purse, which police successfully retrieved. The victim is currently receiving medical care at the Cottage Hospital in Bambam, while authorities are actively searching for an accomplice named Mubarak.
In a separate enforcement action, police raided a location in the Tumfure area of Akko Local Government Area. They arrested 40-year-old Nasiru Aminu and 33-year-old Jamiu Muhammad after finding them in possession of 39 master keys and a screwdriver, suspected to be tools for criminal entry.
Furthermore, authorities located a Toyota Yaris that had been stolen from Sani Ahmed. The owner was attacked and stabbed by unknown assailants near Tumu-Kashere Junction. The perpetrators later discarded the vehicle close to the Army Barracks. Ahmed is undergoing treatment at the Gombe State Specialist Hospital, and the State Criminal Investigation Department is managing the ongoing investigation into these crimes.
