Writing online, Eisenkot expressed frustration that citizens are receiving updates on critical security matters from international outlets instead of domestic officials. He suggested this highlights a significant discrepancy between Netanyahu’s public rhetoric and his actual decision-making.
Eisenkot argued that the administration has compromised despite the significant toll of the conflict, which has resulted in numerous soldier deaths and injuries. He believes the prime minister has failed to realize the objectives established when the war began.
The legislator emphasized that permitting Hamas to maintain any authority in the Gaza Strip creates a dangerous precedent. He insists that allowing the organization to recover its strength and threaten future violence is unacceptable. He finished by calling for a more transparent government dedicated to permanent safety, though he stopped short of identifying specific elements of the American proposal he found objectionable.
