FRSC Officer And Daughter Found Dead In Suspected Ritual Killing

A dark cloud settled over Ogun and Osun states as the search for 39-year-old Federal Road Safety Corps senior officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, and her teenage daughter, Sewa, ended in tragedy. The pair, declared missing on Sunday, November 2, were discovered dead their mutilated remains recovered from the den of a suspected herbalist in Osun.

Lasisi, a Superintendent Route Commander known for overseeing critical enforcement operations within the FRSC, left home with her daughter from Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, that morning and never returned. Phone lines went dead. Anxiety grew. Then hope dissolved into horror.

A family source relayed the grim discovery over the weekend, revealing that investigators traced the bodies to the residence of a traditional healer. The suspected herbalist fled, but his wife was arrested as police moved swiftly to secure the scene.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed that the Osun State Police Command recovered exhibits believed to be body parts belonging to the victims. He added that suspects are already in custody, with Osun leading the investigation while Ogun provides support.

What began as a missing-persons case has now spiralled into a suspected ritual killing a chilling reminder of the terrors that sometimes lurk behind closed doors. The investigation continues as authorities hunt the fleeing herbalist and piece together the final hours of mother and daughter.
