The Kebbi Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intercepted 39 vehicles for multiple traffic violations during a focused enforcement campaign throughout the state. Sector Commander Rukayya Zakaria announced the results during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
Launched on July 20, the initiative addresses dangerous driving behaviors such as overloading, incorrect loading practices, route deviations, and the use of substandard tyres. According to Zakaria, the operation, known as “Daidaita Lodi” and “Lodi Limit,” covers all seven FRSC units in Kebbi and remains active through July 22.
The agency is coordinating this effort with the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. The goal is to enhance adherence to traffic laws, minimize accidents, and increase road safety for all citizens. Zakaria noted that such patrols are part of the broader, periodic enforcement strategy mandated by the national headquarters.
The commander advised all drivers to adhere to safety protocols, maintain vehicle roadworthiness, and avoid speeding or overloading to keep the state’s highways secure.
