Football’s global governing body, FIFA, has indicated that the Super Eagles must prioritize organizational stability to secure a spot in the 2030 World Cup. In a report published this Wednesday, FIFA highlighted the significant talent pool available within Nigeria.
Nigeria missed out on the 2026 World Cup, marking their second consecutive absence from the tournament. The team, managed by Eric Chelle, placed second in Group C during the CAF qualifiers but was ultimately defeated by DR Congo in the continental play-off round.
Addressing Nigerian football officials, FIFA noted that while the nation possesses immense potential due to its consistent development of talent, reaching the 2030 event is not merely a question of player skill. The organization stressed that establishing a firm, consistent framework is essential to ensure the team delivers the reliable results needed for qualification.
