FG Cancels Independence Day Parade For Nigeria’s 65th Anniversary
The Federal Government has announced the cancellation of the Independence Day parade earlier scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, to mark Nigeria’s 65th anniversary.
In a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the government stressed that the decision does not diminish the importance of the milestone. It added that other activities lined up for the celebration will still go ahead as planned.
The statement further appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reforms, while expressing regret for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation.
