Shakirat Moshood, a midfielder for the Falconets, has officially signed a two-year deal with the Portuguese side SCU Torreense. She transitions to the European league after previously competing for Bayelsa Queens, the former titleholders of the Nigeria Women Football League.
This transfer signifies the start of the 18-year-old’s professional journey abroad. Moshood brings significant experience to her new club, having captained the Flamingos during the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup hosted in Morocco. Additionally, she earned recognition as the runner-up for the 2025 CAF Women’s Youth Player of the Year award.
Beyond her youth international success, Moshood helped the Falconets secure their spot in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled for September in Poland. Her arrival comes at a historic time for SCU Torreense, as the club prepares to make its debut appearance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League next season.
