Agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended more than 20 people during a Monday morning operation at Mariton Apartments in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. Located at Plot 30, QMB Road, the raid represents a significant step in the commission’s efforts to combat financial misconduct.
An anonymous official confirmed that the action was based on intelligence reports. Authorities are currently processing the suspects and evaluating evidence seized from the property. While the identities of the detained individuals and the exact nature of the allegations remain undisclosed, officials stated that investigations are ongoing.
Local residents noted that the commission searched multiple units during the operation, which was described as one of the most substantial actions in the area recently. Although some neighbors speculated that the premises were used for internet-related fraud, those claims remain unverified, and the agency has not formally accused any residents or property owners of wrongdoing. Occupancy at the apartment complex has reportedly dipped following the event as the agency continues its analysis of the recovered materials.
