Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, has voiced strong disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s governance. During an interview on Channels Television, he claimed the administration launched significant economic reforms, such as the fuel subsidy removal, without performing the necessary strategic assessments.
Baba-Ahmed contended that the administration lacked a formal SWOT analysis before executing major policy shifts. He expressed that the President, despite having strong credentials, has failed to manage key national crises like insecurity, corruption, and the high cost of living. He noted that while government revenue has grown, these gains have not improved the lives of citizens, as poverty levels continue to climb.
Addressing concerns regarding the opposition, Baba-Ahmed clarified that any shift in leadership must occur through democratic elections rather than unconstitutional methods. He emphasized that his party aims to vote the current administration out of power in the future. Meanwhile, the Federal Government maintains that its reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies, are essential steps toward long-term economic stability.
