“Doctor and Body Shaming Should Never Be in the Same Sentence” Woman Criticizes Nigerian Medical Doctor for Calling a Lady a ‘Frog-Looking Structure’
Yakubu Hope Oyiza, a prominent anti-human trafficking advocate, has strongly condemned Nigerian medical doctor DS Omeiza for body shaming a woman in a recent Facebook post.
“Whoever knows this Frog-looking structure should borrow her some sense she earnestly lacks. The day I will start with her, it will involve her family and everyone she ever knew including her rotten ancestors in the grave. I have been ignoring her enough. It’s time to turn the other side. I am not dumb,” he wrote.
“Doctor and body shaming should never be in the same sentence. Some professions are designed to make you a healer and not a destroyer, irrespective of anything, irrespective of anything.”
The controversy erupted after Dr. Omeiza shared a photo of the woman on Tuesday, May 27, crudely describing her as a “frog-looking structure” a comment that quickly drew backlash across social media platforms.
Oyiza responded sharply, criticizing the doctor’s behavior as unprofessional and harmful. “A person entrusted with saving lives should know better than to use their platform to demean others,” she stated, emphasizing that such remarks contribute to a culture of bullying and low self-esteem, especially among women.
She also called on medical professionals and public figures to exercise greater sensitivity and accountability in their online conduct, stressing the importance of using influence to uplift rather than shame.
As outrage continues to grow online, many Nigerians are joining Oyiza in demanding an apology from Dr. Omeiza and urging professional bodies to investigate the incident.
