Nigerian comedian and reality TV personality DeeOne has publicly called on musician Davido to shift his campaign strategy for Governor Ademola Adeleke. In a video released this past Friday, the comedian argued that relying on celebrity status is insufficient for securing the governor’s re-election in Osun State.
DeeOne emphasized that the focus should be on the governor’s specific accomplishments during his tenure. He warned that if Davido fails to highlight tangible projects and governance milestones, the governor faces a significant risk of defeat at the polls. The comedian urged the entertainer to stop using his personal brand as a crutch and instead present the electorate with a record of service.
Highlighting that the citizens of Osun require effective leadership rather than entertainment value, DeeOne stated that voters are increasingly rejecting emotional appeals in favor of proven results. The upcoming off-cycle gubernatorial election in Osun State is set for August 15, 2026, with Governor Adeleke campaigning on the Accord Party platform.
