Afrobeats icon David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, recently asserted that he would be impossible to defeat in a truly transparent Nigerian election. The musician shared these thoughts during an online session with content creator Carter Efe, though he clarified that he has no current aspirations to hold public office.
Davido explained that he prefers to dedicate his energy to his music career rather than engaging with an electoral system he perceives as dishonest. He expressed frustration with the way election outcomes are handled in the country, noting that he would not tolerate electoral fraud quietly. The artist stated that he might only pursue a political role once the system becomes fair and accountable.
Despite his political lineage, the singer remains committed to his artistry. He also mentioned that he is keeping a close watch on the upcoming Osun State gubernatorial race. For now, Davido insists that while he possesses the popular support required to win even a presidential contest, he will remain focused on his music until the integrity of the voting process improves.
