Cameroon has officially punched its ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The Indomitable Lionesses secured their spot following a 1-0 win against Nigeria’s Super Falcons during their WAFCON 2026 quarter-final match this Sunday.
This victory advances the team to the tournament semi-finals while simultaneously confirming their qualification for the global event, which will be held in Brazil. The 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations acts as the primary qualifier for African nations, granting automatic World Cup entry to all four semi-finalists.
Alongside Cameroon, Algeria and Morocco have also cemented their positions in the upcoming World Cup after advancing to the semi-final stage of the continental competition on Saturday. The 2027 edition of the World Cup will take place in Brazil and will feature an expanded roster of 32 participating teams.
As continental tournaments conclude globally, additional countries will join the list of qualified participants.
