Chidi Odinkalu Raises Concerns Over President Tinubu’s Background Records

Former NHRC Chairman Prof. Chidi Odinkalu has questioned the legitimacy of President Bola Tinubu’s nationality and educational background due to missing public records.

Professor Chidi Odinkalu, the former head of the National Human Rights Commission, has openly challenged the clarity surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s personal history, specifically questioning his citizenship and educational credentials. In a widely circulated video, the law professor argued that essential details regarding the President remain obscure.

Odinkalu highlighted questions concerning the President’s nationality, citing the possession of a diplomatic passport from Guinea. He also addressed the lack of verifiable records regarding Tinubu’s childhood and early education, noting that the President claims to hold a university degree despite an absence of primary and secondary school documentation. The legal expert emphasized that these gaps in public record mirror concerns previously held by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

These criticisms emerge as public scrutiny intensifies over the documentation submitted by the President to the Independent National Electoral Commission, which notably omitted certificates from his earlier schooling years.
