Chaos as Two-Year-Old Accidentally Shoots Twin Sibling

A two-year-old child is hospitalized after being accidentally shot by their twin, according to police.

Henry County Police responded to a home in Hampton, Georgia, around noon on Wednesday, March 12, after receiving reports of a gunshot, Fox5 reports.

The toddler, whose name and gender have not been disclosed, was airlifted from the residence on Robin Hood Lane, just south of Atlanta. First responders from Henry County Fire Rescue provided initial treatment before the child was transported to the hospital, where they are now in stable condition.

Authorities have cordoned off the home as investigations continue.

A local resident told Fox5 that officers restricted access to part of the street as they investigated the incident.

Detectives believe the child’s twin sibling “gained possession of the firearm” and accidentally discharged it.

The ownership and type of firearm involved remain unclear, and no charges have been filed at this time.

Images from the scene show investigators searching the one-story home, which has been sealed off with yellow tape.

The incident comes just three months after a tragic case in California, where 22-year-old Jessinya Mina was fatally shot by her two-year-old son after he found a loaded gun in her bedroom in Fresno on December 6, 2024.

Police arrived at the apartment complex and found Mina with a single gunshot wound to her upper body.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the tragic accident occurred after Mina’s boyfriend, 18-year-old Andrew Sanchez, negligently left a 9mm handgun unsecured and accessible in their bedroom.
