Caykur Rizespor Eyes Move for Taiwo Awoniyi

Turkish Super Lig side Caykur Rizespor is targeting Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi to strengthen their attack for the new season.

Turkish top-flight side Caykur Rizespor is considering a transfer for Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi. The club aims to bolster its offensive lineup as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Awoniyi, 29, faced a difficult 2025/26 season at Nottingham Forest, largely hampered by recurring injuries. His Premier League participation was limited; he was initially omitted from the squad and only added later following an injury to teammate Ola Aina. Throughout the campaign, the forward recorded four goals and a single assist in 17 league outings.

Competition for starting positions at the City Ground is intense, with Igor Jesus and Chris Wood currently favored. While Awoniyi has participated in pre-season matches under new head coach Oliver Gleaner, his future remains uncertain as he seeks more consistent playing time.
