Bwala Urges Citizens to Hold Governors Accountable Instead of Criticizing Tinubu

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala argues that Nigerians should hold state governors accountable for local development rather than blaming President Tinubu for governance failures.

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has argued that citizens should redirect their scrutiny toward state governors rather than focusing blame on President Bola Tinubu. Commenting on the principles of federalism, Bwala stated that the President does not act as a supervisor for state leaders, who are instead meant to be checked by their respective State Houses of Assembly.

Highlighting the substantial financial allocations provided to local governments, Bwala noted that between January and March, ₦2.26 billion was disbursed, with another ₦600 million expected this month. He emphasized that these funds, if managed properly by state authorities, are sufficient to revitalize primary healthcare, improve education, boost infrastructure, and enhance community security measures like local vigilante groups.

Bwala concluded that without enforcing accountability at the state level, federal financial support will remain ineffective. He asserted that even with massive increases in federal funding, domestic development will stagnate if local governance is not challenged by citizens and local legislative bodies.
