Butcher Kills Brother Over N200 Meat Dispute in Adamawa

A butcher identified as Monday Murya allegedly stabbed his elder brother, Friday Murya, to death during a quarrel over N200 worth of meat in Adamawa State.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in the Waltadi community within the Dumne State Development Area of Song Local Government Area.

During the altercation, Monday also stabbed another elder brother, Sinairu, who attempted to intervene and separate the two. Sinairu is currently receiving medical treatment at Dumne Cottage Hospital in Song LGA.

Reports indicate that the quarrel began when Friday took N200 worth of meat without paying for it. Monday demanded payment, but Friday refused, leading to a physical confrontation. In the heat of the fight, Monday allegedly used a knife to stab his brother.

The deceased was rushed to Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital in Yola, Adamawa State, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
