British wildcard entrant Arthur Fery secured his spot in the Wimbledon fourth round following a grueling five-set victory against Zizou Bergs. Despite battling through three separate nosebleeds, Fery rallied from deficits in both sets and breaks to win 2-6, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (10-5) on Court 18.
Entering the tournament ranked outside the world’s top 100, the 23-year-old became the only British singles player to reach this stage of the competition. Following earlier wins against Damir Dzumhur and Otto Virtanen, Fery showcased remarkable resilience against his Belgian opponent to become the first British wildcard to reach the fourth round since 1993.
Reflecting on the match, Fery admitted he was stunned by the achievement and noted that it would take time to process the victory. He is set to face either Matteo Berrettini or Grigor Dimitrov in his next match.
