Borno Military Mission Frees Six Kidnapped Victims and Seizes Ammunition

Military forces in Borno State have rescued four adults and two infants from captivity, while also recovering abandoned ammunition during a strategic operation.

Soldiers serving with the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, have successfully liberated six hostages in Borno State, a group that included two infants. Acting Military Information Officer Captain Mohammed Goni confirmed that the rescue took place in the Talakawa area of Chibok, utilizing both aerial and ground assets based on solid intelligence.

The group, consisting of four adults and two children, had been captured previously in Mussa, located within the Askira/Uba region, back in May. Captain Goni noted that this recovery represents a major advancement in the wider campaign to locate and free students kidnapped from the Government Day Secondary School in Lassa.

Following their rescue, the victims were transported to a safe zone for medical assessments and support. Officials are providing essential supplies to assist in their recovery while preparing to return them to their families. During the mission, military personnel also secured 50 rounds of PKT ammunition left behind by retreating fighters. The military command emphasized that this discovery underscores the success of their current offensive strategies and the panicked state of the insurgents.
