Benue resident detained for the reported murder of co-wife’s daughter

A Benue State woman named Erdoo Nancy is in police custody following the alleged murder of her co-wife’s child in Gwer East.

Erdoo Nancy, a resident of the Ankyoor community in the Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State, has been taken into custody. She stands accused of killing the child of her co-wife.

Witnesses report the incident took place near the YUA Guest House on Makurdi Road. Local young men intercepted the woman before she could flee the scene. They promptly delivered her to the Alide police division in Gwer East to face inquiry.

Initial findings indicate that the suspect harmed the young girl while the mother was not present. Currently, the reasoning behind this act is unknown. Authorities have yet to disclose the name or exact age of the victim. DSP Udeme Edet, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police, was unavailable to provide an official statement on the matter when this report was prepared.
