Bandits Strike Kwara Church, Killing Two As Police Launch Manhunt

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed a deadly bandit raid at a church in the Eruku community on Tuesday evening, November 18 an attack that shattered the quiet around 6 p.m.

According to the command, gunfire erupted on the outskirts of the town, prompting the Divisional Police Officer and his team, supported by local vigilantes, to storm the area. Their rapid response forced the attackers to flee into the surrounding bush.

A search of the scene led to a grim discovery: Mr. Aderemi was found shot dead inside the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, while another victim, Mr. Tunde Asaba Ajayi, was located in the nearby bush, also f@tally wounded. A vigilante, Segun Alaja, suffered gunshot injuries and was rushed to ECWA Hospital in Eruku for treatment.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, praised the swift coordination between officers and vigilantes. He assured residents that security operatives remain relentless and fully committed to tracking down the attackers and eradicating such criminal elements from the area.
