Bandits Abduct Islamic Scholar And Students In Zaria
Suspected bandits have kidnapped a prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Isma’eel Gausi, in Zaria, Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the gunmen kidnapped Gausi along with his students from his residence on Wednesday night, August 7, 2024.
Witnesses reported that the bandits stormed his residence, shooting sporadically before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.
“The noise of gunshots was alarming,” a local resident said. “We saw the bandits forcefully taking away the Sheikh and his students.”
Family members are in a state of panic, pleading for a response from security forces.
“We are deeply worried and call on authorities to ensure the safe return of our loved ones,” a family member said.
