At 98 Years Old, Bill Kober Maintains a Daily Routine of 40 Press-ups

Ninety-eight-year-old Bill Kober stays physically fit by completing 40 press-ups every day and practicing Pilates in his home of Woodbridge, Suffolk.

Bill Kober from Woodbridge, Suffolk, is gaining attention for his impressive commitment to fitness at the age of 98. He performs 40 press-ups daily, split into two sets of 20, and even engages in Pilates sessions, having recently learned the crow pose. Kober believes in the principle of keeping his body active to maintain his physical abilities.

Reflecting on his technique, Kober emphasizes the importance of a straight back and engaged glutes to perform a perfect press-up. His career consisted of manual labor, including stints in the Army, the building trade, and factory work, which he credits for his ongoing strength. He notes that while he was never overly focused on formal exercise, this history of physical work helped him stay fit.

Kober, who has been married for over 75 years, was born in Mile End and spent part of World War Two evacuated to the Cotswolds, an experience he describes as a highlight of his life. Currently, he keeps busy by volunteering at the Long Shed community center and crafting wooden items. He attributes his longevity to good genes and remains optimistic about continuing his exercise regimen as he approaches his 100th birthday.
