Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has explicitly removed himself from the controversy surrounding Gianni Infantino’s attempt to sell shares in the FIFA World Cup. Wenger stated clearly that he plays no part in the administrative or commercial functions of FIFA.
Speaking to the media via Sportskeeda, Wenger highlighted his primary focus remains on nurturing young talent. He currently oversees efforts across 60 academies internationally, emphasizing that his professional mandate centers on game analysis, digital training resources, and the expansion of youth-level tournaments.
Wenger also noted his advisory role with the International Football Association Board (IFAB), where he helps refine game regulations. Regarding the controversial proposal to bring private investors into the World Cup, he stated he was unaware of the plan until it surfaced in the news. He praised the organization’s eventual choice to cancel the project, affirming his support for an independent FIFA rooted in transparency and integrity.
