Arsenal completes £75m acquisition of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle

Arsenal has finalized a £75 million deal for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes, with the midfielder signing a four-year contract.

Arsenal has secured the services of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes for a transfer fee of £75 million. The 28-year-old, who previously served as Newcastle United’s captain, signed a four-year contract that includes an option for an additional year.

Guimaraes acknowledged the difficulty of departing Newcastle, noting the club’s significance in his career. He stated that he is prepared for a fresh challenge. During the 2025-26 season, he stood out as Newcastle’s leading Premier League scorer, netting nine goals in 29 matches.

The midfielder played a pivotal role in the club’s transformation after his arrival in January 2022. Under Eddie Howe, he helped lead the team to Champions League qualification twice and achieved the historic milestone of winning the 2025 EFL Cup. Newcastle expressed their support for the player as he transitions to the Emirates Stadium following his departure from the team’s training camp in Spain.
