Monaco authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect linked to a recent parcel bombing that left a prominent Ukrainian businessman and two others severely injured. The suspect is reported to be a foreign national who has since fled the principality, prompting officials to seek an Interpol Red Notice.
Surveillance footage captured an individual placing a package in an apartment building foyer on Monday evening. An explosion occurred shortly after, harming three people—including a minor—as they entered the premises. Investigators are currently treating the case as an attempted murder rather than an act of terrorism. Following the blast near the French border, witnesses observed the perpetrator escaping toward the commune of Beausoleil.
While initial reports suggested the suspect was a male, local media outlets indicate the individual may have been a woman disguising her appearance. Public Prosecutor Stéphane Thibault commended the collaboration between French and Monegasque law enforcement for their rapid identification of the suspect.
Although officials have not released the victims’ names, reports identify the target as 58-year-old real estate developer Vadym Yermolaiev. A dual citizen who renounced his Ukrainian nationality in 2019, Yermolaiev has faced government sanctions in Kyiv since 2023 due to his business ties in Russian-annexed Crimea. Prince Albert II of Monaco condemned the event as a heinous criminal act.
