Influencer Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan, have made their initial appearance in a Miami federal courtroom to address extradition requests from the United Kingdom. The brothers face a series of allegations, including sex trafficking and rape, which have resulted in 59 total charges brought by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Currently detained in a Florida facility since their weekend arrest, the brothers were seen in shackles during the brief Monday proceedings. Their legal representative, Joe McBride, declared his clients’ innocence and stated his intent to challenge the extradition, characterizing the legal efforts against them as politically motivated. McBride estimated the legal process could span approximately 60 days, with the next court date scheduled for July 27.
The current charges relate to incidents alleged to have occurred between 2010 and 2017. These legal troubles exist alongside separate ongoing cases in Romania, where the brothers also face human trafficking and exploitation allegations. The Tate brothers, who hold dual British-US citizenship, relocated to the United States in 2025 after Romanian officials removed their travel restrictions.
