Anambra NYSC Service Completion: Five Gain Employment While Nine Face Extension

A total of 933 NYSC members completed their service in Anambra, while nine were penalized with a repeated service year for absenteeism and five received job offers.

In Anambra State, nine National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members are required to restart their service year after failing to show up for their duties. Pauline Ojisua, the state coordinator for the NYSC, announced this update during the ceremony where Certificates of National Service were distributed at the Ihiala Local Government Council Secretariat on Thursday.

Alongside those who must repeat the year, two additional corps members received service extensions due to disciplinary infractions. On a positive note, Ojisua confirmed that five participants secured automatic employment with their primary assignments. In total, 933 members of the 2025 Batch B, Stream I were officially cleared after finishing their mandatory year of service. The graduation events took place across all 21 local government areas within the state.

During the event, Ojisua encouraged the graduates to act as positive representatives of the country. She stressed the importance of utilizing the vocational training they received through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program to achieve independence, rather than focusing solely on traditional office jobs. She further motivated them to pursue productive ventures that help build the national economy and suggested that they maintain ties with the organization through the NYSC Foundation.
