Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, has been confirmed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ondo Central Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 elections. Following the confirmation, the senator reached out to his fellow aspirants, emphasizing that the primary process was a democratic exercise rather than a conflict.
In an official statement released in Akure, Adegbonmire attributed his success to the support of the electorate and the APC leadership. He specifically lauded President Bola Tinubu for his guidance, as well as the National Working Committee and National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda for their objective handling of the nomination appeal process.
The senator highlighted the contributions of Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, noting his role in fostering local harmony. He also acknowledged the support of former state party chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin. Adegbonmire insisted that there is no room for resentment, stating that the primary was merely a contest of vision.
Looking toward the 2027 general election, the candidate urged his supporters to remain focused on party unity. He promised to prioritize effective legislative representation that addresses both legal frameworks and the practical needs of the people in Ondo Central.
