Adamawa Governor Inaugurates 21 Local Government Chairmen

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has inaugurated 21 local government chairmen in Adamawa State, urging them to prioritize development and integrity while serving their constituents at the grassroots level.

Ahmadu Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State, officially swore in 21 newly elected local government chairmen on Wednesday. These officials will lead their respective councils for a three-year term. The News Agency of Nigeria confirmed that the Peoples Democratic Party secured all seats during the June 13 election managed by the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission.

During the ceremony held in Yola, Governor Fintiri congratulated the chairmen and 226 councillors on their electoral success. He emphasized the importance of performing their duties with integrity and explicitly cautioned them against corruption. Furthermore, the governor directed the officials to reside within their local government areas rather than staying in Yola, noting that they serve as the government at the grassroots level.

The governor urged the leaders to act as catalysts for development and to be accessible to their constituents. He advised them to collaborate with traditional rulers and administrators to restore public trust. Speaking on behalf of the group, Yola North LGA Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin thanked the governor and the electorate, promising a strong commitment to delivering democratic benefits to the people. The oath of office was administered by Chief Judge Justice Hafsat Abdulrahaman.
