Abuja Police Locate and Retrieve Stolen Hilux in Kaduna State

FCT police officers tracked and recovered a stolen Toyota Hilux in Kaduna State, arresting one suspect after a swift response to a report in Wuse II.

Law enforcement officials from the Federal Capital Territory have successfully retrieved a Toyota Hilux that was taken from Abuja and transported to Kaduna State. SP Josephine Adeh, the command’s spokesperson, noted that the recovery was achieved following a rapid intervention by the Maitama Division.

On June 20, 2026, CSP Altine Daniel, the DPO of Maitama, was notified that a white 2014 Toyota Hilux, bearing registration number BWR 712 CV, had been stolen from the Wuse II district. The owner reported that the vehicle vanished only minutes after being parked at 1:30 p.m. Witness reports indicated an unidentified individual drove the car away.

Police units across all FCT exit points were immediately ordered to conduct intensive stop-and-search operations. Utilizing electronic tracking tools, authorities located the truck in Kubacha, situated in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, by 3:30 p.m. that afternoon. One individual was taken into custody during the recovery.

The suspect and the vehicle remain under police supervision as authorities continue to investigate the incident. The FCT Commissioner of Police has encouraged local residents to heighten their personal security awareness to help prevent similar crimes.
