On Thursday afternoon, a group of armed assailants targeted Lata Nna, a community located in the Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State. During the raid, which took place between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the attackers kidnapped a man named Mohammed Abubakar Ndapkada.
Community members reported that the kidnappers later established contact to verify the victim’s status, allowing him a brief phone call with his brother. During this conversation, Ndapkada explained that he had been blindfolded and remained unaware of his current location. At this stage, the abductors have yet to issue a ransom request or set conditions for his freedom.
This event follows a previous attempted attack on the same village only weeks ago, highlighting a pattern of instability in the region. Locals are pleading with state and federal authorities, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to bolster military presence. Residents fear that without a swift and decisive security response, the surrounding villages will remain exposed to further violence.
