Ghana’s Black Queens came from behind to beat Côte d’Ivoire 2-1, earning a spot in the December Intercontinental World Cup Playoffs.

The Black Queens of Ghana secured a 2-1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, rallying in the second half to advance to the upcoming Intercontinental World Cup Playoffs. Despite controlling much of the match, Ghana trailed 1-0 at halftime following a successful penalty strike by their West African neighbors.

Ghana mounted a determined response in the second half, equalizing the score with a well-placed header. As the game neared its end, Germany-based forward Josephine Bonsu delivered the winning goal by successfully converting a late penalty.

This triumph sends Ghana to the first phase of the Intercontinental Playoffs this December, where they await the outcome of the Nigeria and South Africa match. These playoffs are a vital step toward qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup hosted by Brazil.
