31 Artillery Brigade Commander Directs Zungeru Power Plant Personnel to Maintain Security Vigilance

Brigadier General Kabir Rabiu has ordered troops protecting the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant to avoid distractions and maintain high security standards while reinforcing the need for inter-agency cooperation.

Brigadier General Kabir Rabiu, the Commander of the 31 Artillery Brigade, has instructed soldiers stationed at the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Plant to stay alert and minimize distractions that might threaten the security of this vital site. This order was issued during an inspection of the plant and the Zungeru Cemetery held on Monday and Tuesday.

During his visit, Rabiu explicitly discouraged the usage of social media and smartphones while on duty, noting that mobile devices should be reserved for authorized or essential tasks. He also issued a stern warning against engaging in betting, gambling, and substance abuse, citing the negative impact these behaviors have on military discipline and health.

Rabiu met with facility manager Engineer Alfa Isah, who expressed gratitude for the soldiers’ professional conduct. Prior to these inspections, the Commander visited the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps state command to advocate for improved intelligence sharing and cooperation between security organizations to counter criminal threats. His tour concluded with a visit to the 313 Artillery Regiment, where he evaluated administrative functions and encouraged the troops to uphold high standards of readiness.
