Officers from the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Response Team (IRT) recently finished an advanced two-day program focused on tactical operations and emergency rescue techniques. Edgard Consulting Limited hosted the intensive sessions in Abuja as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts.
The curriculum covered a broad range of skills including rapid emergency response, casualty evacuation, hostage rescue strategies, and advanced weapon handling. According to the firm’s CEO, Edward Orim, the training aims to better equip police personnel for modern security challenges through professional capacity building provided at no cost to the state.
Lead instructor Simeon Itodo noted that the curriculum aligned with international standards found in nations like the United States and Israel. The instruction specifically addressed trauma management for gunshot wounds and organized search and rescue procedures. Attendees reported that the hands-on nature of the program improved their teamwork, emergency decision-making, and evacuation capabilities.
Edgard Consulting Limited emphasized that partnerships between the private sector and law enforcement are essential for bolstering national security readiness. The agency plans to continue its support for security services through ongoing professional development initiatives.
