The All Progressives Congress (APC) maintains that its gubernatorial candidate, Biodun Oyebamiji, is poised to defeat incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming Osun State election. Despite this claim, media entrepreneur and ADC figurehead Dele Momodu has voiced his support for Adeleke, citing the governor’s significant achievements during his current term.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Momodu highlighted extensive infrastructure projects in cities such as Osogbo, Ede, Ile-Ife, Ilesha, and Iwo. He noted that despite financial constraints and political pressure, the governor successfully refurbished schools and upgraded health clinics. Momodu also credited the influence of global music star Davido, a member of the Adeleke family, for strengthening local support, noting the family’s history of providing scholarships at Adeleke University.
Conversely, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka offered a starkly different assessment during an interview on Arise Television. Morka described the Adeleke administration as a failure, pointing to alleged deficiencies in the education and healthcare sectors. He claimed that various stakeholders have recently shifted their support to the APC candidate, asserting that voters will reject the current governor at the polls this Saturday.
