Students in Wales and Northern Ireland will also receive AS-level marks, which contribute to their future A-level tallies.
University financial stability remains a pressing concern, as domestic tuition fees have been frozen for long periods, leading to deficits for many institutions. Tuition in England and Wales will climb to £9,790 for the upcoming academic year. Meanwhile, industry leaders like Jo Saxton of Ucas have cautioned against devaluing the university experience, arguing that it remains the optimal path for many young people.
This cohort of students experienced significant disruption during their early secondary education due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Regulators, including Ofqual, have been closely overseeing the grading process, particularly in response to concerns regarding the difficulty of certain A-level mathematics papers this year.
