Former PDP Gubernatorial Candidate Supports Governor Adeleke for Re-election

Adebayo Adedamola, a former PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Osun, has endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke for the August 15, 2026, election, urging his supporters to prioritize the state’s collective interests.

Adebayo Adedamola, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful in Osun State, has officially declared his support for Governor Ademola Adeleke in the upcoming August 15, 2026, election. Adedamola, widely known as Fryo, had previously secured 919 votes in a factional primary held in Osogbo, though his name was excluded from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s final candidate list.

During a Wednesday press conference in Osogbo, Adedamola explained that his endorsement followed deep reflection and a review of the state’s political climate. He encouraged his followers and the PDP base to rally behind Senator Adeleke. He emphasized that personal ambitions must yield to the collective welfare of the public, noting that political engagement involves navigating complex realities.

Adedamola confirmed he has notified party leaders and stakeholders of his change in direction. Looking toward the election, he called for a peaceful process, urging all political actors to shun violence and inflammatory rhetoric. He reminded the public that the stability and future of Osun State remain more significant than any single political contest.
