Nine Bodies Found in Niger State Following Suspected Bandit Attack

Police in Niger State have recovered nine bodies from the Wawa-Lumma road in Borgu, suspected to be the result of a bandit attack, while security forces increase patrols.

Law enforcement authorities in Niger State have verified the discovery of nine corpses along the Wawa-Lumma route situated within the Borgu Local Government Area. It is believed that these individuals were murdered by bandits during their transit along this path.

SP Wasiu Abiodun, the official spokesperson for the state police, informed the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Minna that a combined force of military and police personnel were deployed to the site on Tuesday following a report. The teams arrived at the scene to recover the deceased individuals.

Abiodun noted that security forces have increased their patrol and clearance activities in the region to neutralize ongoing threats. He confirmed that tactical units are currently working to ensure the safety of the corridor for the local population.
