Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has advised Nigerians to reject violence as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections. During his address at the Muslim World League international conference, he emphasized that instability affects everyone regardless of their religious affiliation.
Reflecting on his upbringing, Yilwatda shared that his father maintained a close friendship with a Muslim Chief Imam, illustrating that coexistence is a personal reality for many. He stated that while Nigerians practice different faiths, they share a common destiny. He argued that violence does not distinguish between victims based on their religion, as it indiscriminately destroys homes and dignity. Instead of focusing on divisions, he urged citizens to work toward a unified future, noting that the entire country succeeds or fails together.
