Afrobeats performer David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, claims that he possesses a larger catalog of successful tracks than any other artist in Nigeria. During a recent livestream session with the creator Davrel, the musician expressed his willingness to wager $1 million against any peer who believes they can outperform him in a music battle.
Davido declared that he would place the cash on the table to prove his standing, asserting his dominance as one of the nation’s most consistent hitmakers alongside peers like Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Olamide. To date, no artist has stepped forward to formally accept this challenge.
This kind of competition is not new to the industry. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Burna Boy proposed a similar contest. Reekado Banks was the only artist to respond, though Burna Boy ultimately dismissed him, claiming he did not qualify as a suitable opponent.
