Kano University Denies Claims of Emir Sanusi Attending School for Academic Carry-over

Northwest University Kano has rejected viral claims that Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II visited the campus to clear an academic carry-over, clarifying that he was instead attending a guest lecture.

Northwest University Kano (NWUK) has formally denied allegations stemming from a widely circulated video suggesting that the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, was at the campus to address an academic carry-over. Abubakar Ibrahim, the university’s Public Relations Officer, issued a statement on Tuesday dismissing the footage as fabricated and deceptive.

The university clarified that the video actually features the Emir participating in a public lecture hosted by the International Humanitarian Law Society. Management stated that social media users falsely superimposed narratives claiming the Emir needed to resolve an academic failure. The institution rejected these reports entirely, labeling them as inaccurate and unfounded. Officials have urged the public and the university community to ignore these rumors and warned against the production or sharing of defamatory and untrue materials.
