In Ondo State, law enforcement officers have apprehended 27-year-old Solomon Onaola following accusations that he sexually abused a 15-year-old girl working as a domestic helper. The incident took place in the Omifon area of Odigbo. The victim’s guardian first reported the issue to the police after noticing the girl frequently left her home without authorization. The case is currently under review by the Gender-Based Offences Unit of the State Command. According to official reports, the teenager admitted that Onaola repeatedly took her to his late mother’s home to assault her. Police spokesperson DSP Jimoh Abayomi confirmed the arrest, noting that the victim is receiving care while a full investigation proceeds under the direction of Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu.
Separately, the police Anti-Kidnapping Squad in Owo detained 32-year-old Ogunmola Oluwasola during a routine vehicle check on the Owo–Ute road. Officers discovered a cut-to-size pistol and four live cartridges in his possession. The suspect is currently held in custody as detectives trace the origin of the weapon and investigate his possible involvement in local criminal activities. DSP Abayomi stated that the force remains dedicated to proactive patrolling and intelligence-led operations to ensure public safety and secure the state against illegal firearm possession.
