Air Peace has ceased all flight operations nationwide after members of the Nigeria Labour Congress locked down its terminals. The industrial action began at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, where a scheduled 6:30 a.m. departure was blocked, leaving numerous passengers stranded.
Reports indicate that similar disruptions are occurring at airports across the country. Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, acknowledged the situation as a labor dispute but noted he requires further investigation to provide specific details.
Social media reports confirm the widespread impact, with travelers expressing frustration over missed appointments due to the shutdown. As of now, Air Peace management has not issued a formal statement, and it remains unclear if other airlines are experiencing similar interruptions.
