Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential assistant, has dismissed recent remarks from musician David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, regarding the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election as nothing more than low-level intimidation.
Davido had previously claimed on social media that supporters of the APC in Osun were hindering progress, suggesting that voters would face consequences for their choices. Ahmad responded by defending the electorate’s right to choose their preferred party, noting that the current administration, led by Davido’s uncle, has held office for four years. He argued that this timeframe is sufficient for citizens to evaluate the government’s performance.
This exchange marks the latest escalation in an ongoing online conflict between the two. Ahmad previously predicted that the performer would voice grievances following the election results. In response, Davido insulted Ahmad’s political background, questioning the tangible results of his eight-year tenure as a presidential aide.
