Soldiers from the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, successfully repelled a significant attack in Gajiram, Borno State. Captain Mohammed Goni reported that the assault occurred during the early hours of August 10, 2026, when a large group of terrorists attempted to storm the military base.
The soldiers utilized superior firepower, causing the attackers to retreat after suffering significant losses. In the aftermath, the military secured various weapons, ammunition, and communication devices. Surveillance data confirmed that the retreating group evacuated multiple casualties from the scene.
While defending the perimeter, a small number of soldiers were injured when the base suffered damage from rocket-propelled grenades. These individuals were quickly evacuated for medical treatment and are currently in stable condition. Military units remain on high alert in the area to maintain control and monitor for additional threats.
