Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has refuted claims that he is seeking the role of Director-General for the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign in 2027. Through his aide, Lere Olayinka, Wike stated that these reports are entirely untrue.
The Minister emphasized that he does not require a formal title within the campaign council to demonstrate his loyalty. Instead, he intends to secure significant electoral success for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in both the FCT and Rivers State without needing an official appointment.
Wike confirmed that his commitment to the President remains unchanged and that he has held no discussions regarding his inclusion in the campaign organization. Currently away from the country following a busy period of project inaugurations, the Minister plans to resume his duties upon his return. He remains dedicated to advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and bolstering support for the President’s political goals.
