Manchester City Turn Down Barcelona Offer for Midfielder Rodri

Manchester City have declined an initial £38.5 million offer from Barcelona for midfielder Rodri, as speculation grows regarding his return to Spain.

Reports indicate that Manchester City have turned down a £38.5 million bid from Barcelona for their star player, Rodri. The 30-year-old midfielder currently has one year left on his contract with the Etihad side, fueling rumors about a potential move back to Spain.

While City values the player closer to £68 million, Barcelona has emerged as the primary contender to sign the athlete, despite previous speculation linking him to Real Madrid. Rodri, who claimed player of the tournament honors during the recent World Cup in North America, previously played for Atletico Madrid before joining the English club in 2019.

During his tenure under Pep Guardiola, he secured several Premier League championships and the 2023 Champions League trophy. Although he enjoyed a successful run winning Euro 2024 and the Ballon d’Or, a significant knee injury has sidelined him for much of the 2024/25 season.
